Our Big Island Volcano Adventures
Treat yourself to an extraordinary experience. Imagine your party of up to six people taking the day off to fly to the Big Island and boarding a helicopter to go see the volcano. Your day starts on Oahu as you board your private twin-engine Piper Chieftain and fly in comfort to the Big Island of Hawaii. There are no lines, no waiting, and no TSA hassles. When you arrive on the Big Island your group boards either a Hughes 500 or a Bell 407 helicopter for an adventure like no other.

The total time for the Kilauea Volcano and the Doors Off adventures is approximately four hours; two hours of helicopter flight time and two hours of airplane flight time to and from Kona or Hilo. The total time for the Volcano/Waterfall and the Volcano/Valley Landing is approximately five hours, including the time on the ground for the waterfall or valley picnic.
The volcano adventures are also available from Kauai, Maui, Lanai, and Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu for a slight additional cost. Other custom options are available upon request.
Airplane transportation is provided by Makani Kai Air Charters and the helicopter portion is provided by K&S Helicopters, Inc.

Doors Off - Approximately 4 hours.
Two hours of helicopter flight time and two hours of airplane flight time to and from Kona or Hilo.
Feel the wind in your face and the heat of the molten lava below. This doors-off adventure is one you’ll talk about for years to come. This is perhaps the finest way to see Madam Pele’s handiwork because you are exposed to the elements and become part of the scene. Plus, it is hands down the best way to photograph the volcano and surrounding areas. You’ll fly in comfort in a Hughes 500 that provides excellent visibility for all. Departing Hilo, you will skim over the beautiful and lush rainforests of the Hilo area and be treated to beautiful views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. In addition to Kilauea Volcano, you will get a bird’s eye view of lovely Rainbow Falls. Accommodates up to four persons.

Kilauea Volcano - Approximately 4 hours.
Two hours of helicopter flight time and two hours of airplane flight time to and from Kona or Hilo.
Of all the fascinating natural phenomena present on our planet, an erupting volcano may be the one most ideally suited for viewing from a helicopter. Kilauea Volcano, on the southern flanks of Mauna Loa, has been treating visitors to ongoing eruptions for more than 20 years, and this tour will give you the most spectacular view of all. In total, you’ll see five volcanoes, incredible valleys and waterfalls, white and black sand beaches, breathtaking coastlines and more. The Big Island, the largest of the Hawaiian Islands (and still growing), is a wonderland of scenic delights. You’ll depart from the Kona Airport in an executive Bell 407 and, in about two hours, see enough grandeur to satiate the most avid adventurer. Accommodates up to six persons.

Volcano and Valley Landing - Approximately 5 hours.
Two hours of helicopter flight time and landing, two hours of airplane flight time to and from Kona or Hilo.
The Volcano and Valley Landing tour is the same tour route as the Kilauea Volcano tour with the addition of a landing at an exclusive valley location. The amazing three hour adventure features a tour of the Big Island including the current eruption activity at Kilauea Volcano, Hilo town and the rugged Hamakua and Kohala coasts with their majestic waterfalls and valleys. During the tour you will land in a remote and secluded valley for lunch. Guests can get out of the aircraft to relax, soak up the sights and enjoy a Hawaiian themed picnic lunch with local fruits, salads and sandwiches. Optional menus are available. Your Piper Chieftain is waiting upon your return to Kona to take you back to Oahu. Accommodates up to six persons.

Volcano and Waterfall Landing - Approximately 5 hours.
Two hours of helicopter flight time and landing, two hours of airplane flight time to and from Kona or Hilo.
The Volcano and Waterfall Landing tour is the same tour route as the Kilauea Volcano tour with the addition of a landing at a remote waterfall for hiking, lunch and even a swim if you’re in the mood. The three hour adventure features a tour of the Big Island including the current eruption activity at Kilauea Volcano, Hilo town and the Hamakua and Kohala coasts with their majestic waterfalls and valleys. Your Piper Chieftain awaits your return to Kona to take you back to Oahu. Accommodates up to six persons.
